Senior Director Melissa Fitzgerald Moderates Microsoft Panel on Veterans and Jobs

This morning, Justice For Vet’s Senior Director Melissa Fitzgerald moderated a panel hosted by Microsoft in Washington, DC. The purpose of the panel was to explore how technology and education can assist in the reintegration of veterans back into society after they have returned home from serving our country.

Participants included Chris Cortez, Major General, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.), Vice President, Military Affairs, Microsoft; Bernard Bergan, SDET, Developer Division, Microsoft;  Walter Tillman, Director of Programs, Student Veterans of America; and, Nathaniel Sillin Head of U.S. Financial Education, Visa Inc.

“There are many inspiring efforts underway that bring together the public and private sectors in partnership to help our veterans and their families ease their transition into civilian life,” said Melissa Fitzgerald. “I was honored to host this important discussion exploring cutting edge initiatives to help returning service members translate their military skills into family wage civilian careers, while highlighting a broad array of tools and resources for managing family finances in their ever evolving post military world.”
