No better training exists than learning onsite from the experts. Justice For Vets in collaboration with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is pleased to present the Veterans Treatment Court Mentor Program.
Justice For Vets, Veterans Treatment Court Mentor Courts serve as model programs for individuals and court teams interested in starting a Veterans Treatment Court, or for established courts interested in learning innovative practices. Applicants are encouraged to apply to be selected to participate in the Mentor Court visits.
Visit requests are reviewed based on the needs of the applying jurisdiction to include which Mentor Courts would best serve those needs. If approved, Justice For Vets can fund up to three (3) visitors from an applying jurisdiction. Costs covered include transportation, lodging, and meals. Airline tickets and hotel are paid for directly by Justice For Vets with other expenses reimbursed upon completion of the visit. All funded visits are required to complete a brief, online evaluation upon their return and before reimbursement.

Applications are now being accepted from new and existing Veterans Treatment Courts to participate in Mentor Court site visits.
